In 1984 David and Julie Boone struck out on an adventure. What began as an idea to design, create and build birdhouses was realized; their first show being the Atlanta Arts Festival in the Spring of 1989. The birdhouses were such a big hit that David and Julie began traveling to art shows around the United States and Wildcat Works took flight.
Their travels gave them a chance to meet others like themselves such as blacksmiths, glass blowers, leather craftsmen and pottery makers and the Boones decided to build a shop to house their own work and to exhibit the work of other artisans as well.
Located in the town of Ball Ground, in the Appalachian foothills of north central Georgia, Wildcat on a Wing evolved into a whimsical, upscale destination featuring the works of many artists from 38 states. Wildcat is now visited by shoppers from all over the country and from as far away as England, France and Russia. After getting approval from the local zoning board in 1996, the shop, a work of art in itself, was designed and built by the artists.
